MichaelCornellHello Podo,
I have intergrated JotForms submissions to Google Sheets. How do I make the newest submission data appear first? I have added a second sheet and renamed it and added the code =SORT('Form responses'!A:Z, 1, FALSE) but I keep getting a REF! message back for error.

Podo: Support SpecialistHi Michael,
Thanks for reaching out to Jotform Support. I'm an AI assistant here to assist you.
Let me help you with that:
Jotform’s Google Sheets integration always sends new submissions as new rows at the bottom of the integrated worksheet. The integration article explains how to set up and manage the connection, but it does not provide a built-in option to reverse the order directly from Jotform — sorting must be handled in Google Sheets.
Since your question is specifically about the REF! issue with your formula, that part depends on Google Sheets behavior and is not covered in the available information. Because of that, I cannot see an officially documented way in our resources to fix that specific formula issue.
However, based on what is documented, here is the supported approach from the Jotform side and what you can generally do in Sheets:
- Keep the original integrated sheet untouched (this is the worksheet that Jotform updates automatically). Renaming its column headers or deleting rows can cause integration issues.
- Create a second worksheet in the same spreadsheet and use it only for viewing or processing data (like sorting newest first).
- Apply sorting or other processing in that second sheet so that the integration sheet remains stable and continues to receive new submissions.
Because the documentation does not include details about the exact formula setup or the REF! behavior, I am not able to provide a step-by-step, guaranteed fix for the formula itself within Google Sheets.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
